Six o’clock in the ev’nin’ in some bar down
town;
six o’clock in the mornin’; we’re still hangin’
around;
six o’clock in the ev’nin’ seems so long ago;
six o’clock in the mornin’ guess it’s time to
go home.
I finished work on Friday at three;
nobody waitin’ back home for me;
as I stepped out of the door, the rain came down,
so I buttoned up my coat and headed down town.
I met the boys in Harry’s Bar at four;
we had a few and then a couple more;
some girls arrived, still drippin’ from the rain,
so we straightened up and had the same again.
Six o’clock in the ev’nin’ in some bar down
town;
six o’clock in the mornin’; we’re still hangin’
around;
six o’clock in the ev’nin’ seems so long ago;
six o’clock in the mornin’ guess it’s time to
go home.
We decided we should have somethin’ to eat,
but couldn’t get the message to our feet;
so we stayed put and drank some more,
put some quarters in the jukebox and played old rock and roll.
Six o’clock in the ev’nin’ in some bar down
town;
six o’clock in the mornin’; we’re still hangin’
around;
six o’clock in the ev’nin’ seems so long ago;
six o’clock in the mornin’ guess it’s time to
go home.
They threw us out at quarter past five;
as dawn began to break the mornin’ sky;
all the bars were shut; we’d nowhere to go,
so we stood on the corner and hung around some more.
Six o’clock in the ev’nin’
in some bar down town;
six o’clock in the mornin’; we’re still hangin’
around;
six o’clock in the ev’nin’ seems so long ago;
six o’clock in the mornin’ guess it’s time to
go home.
Six o’clock in the ev’nin’ in some bar down
town;
six o’clock in the mornin’; we’re still hangin’
around;
six o’clock in the ev’nin’ seems so long ago;
six o’clock in the mornin’ guess it’s time to
go home;
guess it’s time to go home; guess it’s time to go
home;
guess it’s time to go home.
